Marshall County, Iowa - Public Health
The Public Health Department is composed of two separate branches. The overall mission of the department is to serve and provide the best possible assistance to the Board of Supervisors, Zoning Commission, Board of Adjustment, Board of Health, general public, business, agriculture, industry and other governmental entities on matters of public/environmental health and noxious weed containment.
Branches of the Department:
- Sanitarian
- To promote public/environmental health through the enforcement of any local and/or state health codes while developing initiatives on the local level to encourage local leadership in public/environmental health.
- Weed Commissioner
- To execute the provisions of the state weed law and county weed policy in the pursuit of eradicating weeds and enhancing roadsides through the introduction of native grasses and flowers.
