Serving Communities of: Albion, Bangor, Clemons, Dillion, Dunbar, Ferguson, Gilman, Green Mountain, Haverhill, Lamoille, Laurel, LeGrand, Liscomb, Marshalltown, Melbourne, Rhodes, St. Anthony, State Center, Van Cleve and Marshall County.
Chapter 29C of the Code of Iowa creates the State Emergency Management Division and the local Emergency Management Commission in Iowa.
The Marshall County Emergency Management Commission is made up of the mayors of all the jurisdictions in Marshall County, one member of the Marshall County Board of Supervisors (who serves as the chair) and the Sheriff. The Commission appoints an Emergency Management Coordinator to manage the agency and assist the commission.
Mission Statement:
The mission of the Marshall County Office of Emergency Management is to focus on preservation of life and property, from all disasters that might impact Marshall County or its citizens, by implementing and maintaining comprehensive emergency management activities, by coordination with intergovernmental, private and volunteer partnerships.
Marshall County Emergency Management is responsible for County Emergency Planning and obtaining State and Federal assistance when a disaster occurs.

Marshall County EMA Administrative Office is located next to the Emergency Operations Center, (3rd Floor of the Marshall County Sheriff's Office)
Normal business hours are from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday. We do attend trainings and meetings outside of our office, so if you are planning a visit, please call to confirm we are in the office.
