MCCB Maintenance Technician

Description: Employment status: Full time regular. Non-exempt under FLSA. Work
schedule: Nonstandard work week. Generally 40 hours per week during a 7 day period. May
be required to work weekends, evenings, overnight, additional hours or to change hours with
minimal notice because of operational needs. Under the general supervision of the director
and immediate supervision of the operations supervisor, assists with the development and
maintenance of all MCCB areas and facilities. Considerable field work is involved in this
position which includes working on and around vehicles, tractors, and power and hand
equipment. The employee will be subject to extreme weather conditions, noise levels,
pitches, vibrations, dust, fumes, and exposed to outdoor elements such as insects including
mosquitoes, ticks, and various plants, pollens, and fungi. Duties require occasional heavy
lifting (up to 80 lbs.), carrying, stooping, bending, walking, standing, reaching and climbing
with materials and tools for the completion of tasks. Perform special and routine duties,
maintain good public relations; and provide directions and information and perform other
duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Associate’s Degree in related natural sciences or experience in natural
resource management field. Bachelor’s Degree in Natural Resource Management related
field is preferred. Must possess or be able to obtain within 6 months of hire an Iowa
Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship Pesticide Applicators License, Commercial
Driver’s License and Wild lands fire training S-130/190 certification.
Salary Range: $36,000 - $41,000, depending on experience and qualifications. Uniforms &
standard co. benefits.
