Marshall County Conservation Board

The August 10 Derecho storm caused extensive damage in all Marshall County Conservation Board areas. As of August 18, 2020, unless noted, all parks are closed until work crews have time to clear debris. Please still use caution in MCCB areas and stay aware of your surroundings. DO NOT go under or near damaged trees. If you see a potential hazardous tree in a reopened area we should know about please let us now at 641-752-5490. Please mind barricades and caution tape, they are in place for your safety. As mentioned this storm caused widespread damage and it will take some time to clear and provide safe areas for recreation. We will get to each park in turn, thank you for your patience and understanding. The Conservation Center remains closed due to COVID-19 restrictions.

Programs administered and services provided by the MCCB are related to natural resource management. Most of the public lands in the county are managed for wildlife, compatible recreation, and conservation education. The MCCB has more than 2,200 acres of land on 31 locations for camping, picnicking, fishing, canoeing, hiking, bicycle trails, forest areas, or native prairie. Some areas are designated wildlife refuge and others are open for public hunting. Marshall County Conservation Area Map

The MCCB  Naturalist  conducts environmental education programs for school groups and the general public.

Conservation Center hours are: Monday - Friday: 8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Saturday: 9 a.m. - 12 noon Closed on County holiday
