Learn about pine needle weaving and create either an ornament or basket.


On April 5 from 6:00 -9:00 p.m. bring your nimble fingers as you learn the ancient art of pine needle weaving. In this one-evening class, create and take home an ornament or starter basket, and the supplies to complete a project or two. Glennda Metzen, Ellsworth Community College Art Instructor leads the group with history, various coil methods and stitches to create a beautiful ornament or basket from natural materials. Materials provided-Kit (Long- needle Pine Needles, thread- sinew/waxed linen/upholstery thread, 2 needles, and starter parts) Participants must pre-register by calling 641-752-5490 and pay the program fee of $30.00 before March 31, 2017.
