Come learn about moths!

Over 2,200 different species of moths have been identified in Iowa, most of these creatures are commonly over looked as they tend to be nocturnal. On July 26 starting at 8:30 p.m. in conjunction with National Moth Week July 21 -29, Jim Durbin, mothing guru, will be at the Grime Farm and Conservation Center for a night of Moth exploration.  Jim will introduce participants to the diversity of moth species here in Iowa, taxonomy, and where and ways to find different moth species.  Participants then will head outside to learn about moth identification and photographing moths. Participants are encourage to wear bug spray and bring cameras. There is no fee for this program, however we request that participants pre-register before July 20 by calling  641-752-5490.
