Worldwide there are over 35,000 different types of spiders.  Although they commonly instill a little bit of uneasiness in most people, spiders play a very important role in the food chain.  Join us on October 22, from 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. at the Grimes Farm and Conservation Center where spider guru Lloyd Crim will talk about the common characteristics of Iowa spiders, common species of spiders in Iowa and how to identify them.  So even if spiders aren’t your best friend, some learn to appreciate these underappreciated creatures that commonly calls you roommate!  There is no fee for this program however pre-registration is required by October 18  before 4:00 p.m. by calling 641-752-5490, emailing mccb@marshallcountyia.gov or text 641-758-9777.
