This program will focus on how to locate, order, plant, prune, and care for fruit trees throughout the year.

Pear treeWith planting season right around the corning March 14th will be a perfect time to join Jess Randall, Iowa State University Extension Forester at the GrimesFarm Conservation Center to discuss growing common fruit trees in Iowa.  This program will focus on how to locate, order, plant, prune, and care for them throughout the year. We will spotlight the more common fruits such as apples, pears, plums, cherries, and a variety of fruit/nut producing shrubs. This will be a very practical discussion led by a small grower who “learned the hard way” with his own fruit and nut bearing trees and shrubs. Pictures of your own project trees are welcome and Jesse will be available during and after for questions.

Registration:     Fee - FREE
