Iowa River Wildlife Management Area
2516 Sand Road, the wildlife areas are located north of Marshalltown.
Working with the Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation and many other donors that
Iowa River Wildlife Management Area is the most recent addition to Marshall
County Conservation Areas. Also taking the title of the largest recreational
area in Marshall County the Iowa River Wildlife Area offers some of the most
unique and diverse habitat in the county. The mature hardwood timber portion
plays host to many unique flora and fauna species including: Turk’s Cap Lily,
Green Dragon, and Red-shouldered Hawks. You will also find wetland areas,
rolling grassland, and 1.5 stretch of the Iowa River bordering the area.
