SEALED BIDS WILL BE RECEIVED BY MARSHALL COUNTY, FOR:

MARSHALL COUNTY ANNEX - INTERIOR RENOVATION

Project Scope: Marshall County is seeking bids for the rehabilitation of their Annex Building located in Marshalltown, Iowa. The project involves interior renovation to update and repair the existing building after damage due to tornado damage suffered in July of 2018. Scope of work will include, but not limited do: Interior renovation / reconfiguration of interior layout and finishes; code updates to entry and egress paths; updates to Mechanical / Electrical / Plumbing /Technology systems; and inclusion of new elevator.

Mandatory Pre-Bid Meeting: Tuesday, May 26, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. CST. Attendees are instructed to meet by using a Zoom Meeting. Attendance IS MANDATORY BY GENERAL CONTRACTORS. The Conference will provide a virtual tour of the building for an opportunity for the perspective bidders to review construction conditions and scope of work. Attendees are requested to pre-register with Scott Allen of OPN Architects, Inc., no later than 24 hours prior to the Pre-Bid Conference, Pre-Registration will be accepted via e-mail to; sallen@opnarchitects.com. Due the current Coronavirus Pandemic (also known as COVID-19) in the United States of America and around the world, the MANDATORY BY GENERAL CONTRACTORS pre-bid conference will be a virtual tour of the building. As everyone continues to monitor the CDC, WHO, and Iowa Department of Public Health. Requirements may change in Iowa and you will be contacted by the email address provided to the Architect for updated information as to revised best course of action. Please follow the current CDC (www.cdc.gov), WHO, and Iowa Department of Public Health requirements with social distancing and if you are aware of your own potential exposure to a positive COVID-19 test or are experiencing respiratory symptoms, please send another person if touring the building.

 

Bids are due: June 16, 2020 at 2:00 PM. Bids must be received by no later than 2:00 PM, local time. Late bids will not be considered. Bids can be provided to the Owner by the one of the following methods:

Bids shall be submitted on the Bid Form and shall be accompanied by a Bid Security as set forth in the Instructions to Bidders in the amount of 5% of the total bid amount. Each bid shall be accompanied by a bid bond, cashier’s check provided ahead of time or a certified check drawn upon a solvent bank chartered under the laws of the United States of America and provided ahead of time. If providing bid security in forms other than a bid bond, then the bid security must be hand delivered and provided ahead of time.

 

$50.00 refundable plan deposit or Master Builders of Iowa MBI Card that will be refundable with return of the construction documents.

 

Marshall County anticipates contract administration period to be completed by June 23, 2021 with Construction starting approximately June 30, 2020 and ending by June 23, 2021. Contractor can complete the project before these dates and indicate on bid form the date before June 23, 2021.

 

Marshall County reserves the right to award the contract to any responsible bidder or bidders offering suitable supplies, equipment and /or service at the lowest price taking into consideration the quality of materials or service in the best interest of the Owner. The right to reject any and all bids, and to waive irregularities and to accept a bid that is deemed in the best interest of the project.

 

The Sealed Bids will be opened and read on June 17, 2020 at the Board of Supervisors meeting at 9:00 AM.  This meeting will be a public meeting and available on a Zoom Meeting (June 17, 2020 Special Session Annex Bid Opening) over the internet, at https://us02web.zoom.us/j/89896831385?pwd=bWNYNVIrNEZPcllFbVdOblZaRXFaQT09, Meeting ID: 898 9683 1385.
