Denny Grabenbauer

Denny has been a Marshall County Supervisor since January 2009 and is currently serving as Chairman. Denny and his wife Barb enjoy spending time with their children, four grandchildren and two Dachshunds.

Deane Adams

Deane considers himself very lucky and proud to be one of the Supervisors for Marshall County. He has had the privilege to have served as Treasurer for 24 years and is now stepping in his second year as a Supervisor. He works with a great team of employees and feels the same trust and respect for each other will continue. He is a “hands on” Supervisor where he visits county offices, has a good time, as well as works hard. He really enjoys doing that.

Before he came to work as Treasurer and Supervisor, he and his wife Jan of 51 years farmed in the Liscomb area and raised two boys and two girls on that farm for 43 years. They moved to Marshalltown in 1999. Deane lost his wife Jan in January 2008 and their son Doug 2006. As some of you know, Deane has six grandkids that he enjoys and takes a lot of time to see them in many school activities. He has a grandson at ISU and a granddaughter getting her master’s degree at Simpson College. He also has a granddaughter that is married and living in El Salvador and he became a great grandfather in May. Deane loves to fish and play golf, but he admits to spending most of his free time at ISU football and basketball games or with grandkids. He is enjoying the challenges of his new job and working with his friends.

Dave Thompson

Dave and Kathy Thompson have owned and operated Thompson True Value Hardware since 1986. Their son Paul has also joined the family business. Dave majored in business administration and economics at the University of Wisconsin in Eau Claire. He is an avid sports fan of high school and college sports, and loves the great outdoors…especially fishing. He and Kathy also have two loved golden retrievers Kelly and Reagan that were adopted through the Animal Rescue League of Marshalltown.

Lisa Gassman

Lisa has been the Administrative Assistant to the Board of Supervisors since the spring of 2007, but a Marshall County employee since the summer of 2006.

Lisa has lived in Marshalltown since 1979, but now resides in Montezuma at Lake Ponderosa. Before joining the County, she practiced as Licensed Dental Hygienist and served as an early morning fitness instructor at the Community Y.

Lisa is the mother of two young adults. Her daughter Jessica attends college at Iowa State University. Her son Vince, just turned 18, works and resides in Marshalltown.

Lisa enjoys spending time with her family and friends, the outdoors, time at the lake and working on projects.
