Auditor and Recorder
In accordance with Chapter 69.1(A), 2017 Code of Iowa, the Marshall County Board of Supervisors hereby gives public notice that they shall fill the vacancy of the County Auditor and Recorder created by the resignation of Deanne Raymond, by appointment. This appointment will be made at a public meeting to be held on Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at 9:00 a.m., in Meeting Room #2, 3rd Floor, NE corner, Courthouse. Said appointment will be effective from October 31, 2017 until the official canvass following the November 6, 2018 General Election.
The application deadline for persons that want to be considered as candidates to be appointed by the Board of Supervisors to the office of Auditor and Recorder is October 13, 2017, at 4:30 p.m. Interested persons should submit a resume and letter of interest detailing their qualifications to the Auditor and Recorder's office. Any interested person must have lived in Marshall County not less than 60 days prior to appointment. All interested persons meeting the minimum qualification are invited to seek appointment.
If within fourteen days after publication of this notice or within fourteen days after the appointment is made, a petition is filed with the County Auditor requesting a special election to fill the vacancy, the appointment is temporary and a special elections shall be called as provided in paragraph 69.14A(2)(b)(2). A petition for special election must comply with Iowa Code Section 331.306.
