JULY 27 ROCKET DOCKET PROGRAM POSTPONED
Due to the closure of the Marshall County Courthouse following the July 19 tornado in Marshalltown, all court hearings scheduled for Rocket Docket on Friday, July 27, are postponed and will not take place as scheduled. More than 75 individuals were scheduled to appear for Rocket Docket on Friday Morning. The Marshall County Attorney’s Office will not request warrants or defaults for any Rocket Docket cases scheduled for July 27.
Rocket Docket participants will receive a court order with a new court date in the mail. To ensure Rocket Docket participants receive notice of their new court date, individuals should ensure their current addresses are on file with the Marshall County Clerk of Court. Individuals may also check Iowa Courts Online to see when their next court date will take place.
The next Rocket Docket hearing dates are August 31, 2018; September 28, 2018; and October 26, 2018; and December 14, 2018. It is possible future Rocket Docket dates and locations could be impacted by the Marshall County Courthouse closure.
Rocket Docket is a voluntary court program hosted by the Marshall County Attorney’s Office for Defendants charged driving under suspension and other traffic citations. The County Attorney’s Office partners with participants to explain why their driver’s license suspensions are in place. The County Attorney’s Office provides a period of time for a participant to correct the suspension. If a participant obtains a valid temporary restricted license or driver’s license within the allotted period of time, he or she may be eligible for reduced charges. All files are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
