Court Debt Collection and Enforcement Agent
The office of the Marshall County Attorney is currently taking applications for a Court Debt and Enforcement Agent.
Major Functions:
- Investigate and commit delinquent cases for collections utilizing multiple intelligence resources.
- Effectively work a large collections caseload, review cases to determine delinquent balance and payment history; establish and implement plans of payment, prepare and process orders for wage assignment and wage garnishments.
- Directly meet with defendants to provide summary of delinquent court debt and establish appropriate plan of payment.
- Monitor established payment agreements for compliance and take appropriate enforcement action as required.
- Investigate driver’s license status and determine appropriate action for reinstatement or restricted license.
Position Requirements:
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with people of diverse socio-economic backgrounds and temperaments while demonstrating tact and diplomacy.
- Experience in investigative techniques and procedures.
- Effectively work with local, state and federal agencies.
- Ability to represent the Marshall County Attorney’s Office in a professional manner.
- Ability to perform a high volume of work effectively without direct supervision and exercise sound independent judgment.
Education, Experience Certifications and Licenses:
- Prefer at least four years of experience in the criminal justice system and Associates degree or equivalent combination of experience and training. Preference given to Military service.
- Must possess basic mathematical and accounting skills.
- Proficiency in computer programs including Microsoft Office.
Salary Range:
- $30,000 to $40,000
